The rules of prevention

Overweight

Overweight seems to be a factor associated with cancer.

Obese individuals become ill and die from some types of cancer more frequently than people who control their weight.

Understanding the causes of this higher incidence is not easy: many obese people do little exercise and have an excessive calorie intake, two risk factors for some diseases, including cancer.

Also excessive fat intake, that can be reasonably assumed in overweight subjects, may be a risk factor for some tumours.

Therefore maintain your ideal weight with an appropriate diet, and exercise regularly in order to increase the protective factors against many conditions including cancer.
