Don't smoke

Smoking is the most frequent single cause of untimely death.

Smoking may kill in over 20 different ways, causing for instance lung cancer, cardiac diseases, cerebrovascular conditions, chronic bronchitis and other respiratory disorders.

Smokers are 3 times more likely to die versus non-smokers.

If you are a smoker, quit. Quitting smoking before developing cancer or another severe condition allows you to avoid most of the residual risk.

Don't smoke in other people's presence, your smoking may be prejudicial to the health of people around you. If you don't smoke, don't start, smoking is addictive and once you begin, it is difficult to give it up.
