The Istituto Toscano Tumori (ITT) in the Community
The ITT comprises
- The Centre for the Study and Prevention of Tumours (CSPO)
- 16 Oncology Departments
that coordinate cancer prevention, diagnosis, treatment and research. There is an Oncology Department in each Local Health Authority and Teaching Hospital Trust.
In each Department there is at least one Oupatient Clinic where patients are seen and Multidisciplinary Oncology Groups define the optimal clinical pathway for them. Within these groups, specialists define and implement the diagnostic, treatment and rehabilitation plan.
